Animation principles: Zoetrope

Zoetrope Animation

Zoetrope animation was the first animation technique to be invented. It was created in 1834 by William Horner, a British mathematician. A sequence of images is lined up in a rotating drum which the user spins to view the animation. For my Zoetrope I animated a simple turnaround of a Pikmin from the game series by the same name because its design is simple and I thought it'd be a good starting point for my journey of learning animation techniques.

This was mostly successful, however bolder illustrations would have looked better as the thin lines of my animation made the detail get lost a bit when in the drum.

Principles used: Squash and stretch.
