Animation Principles: Stop motion sequence
Stop motion sequence
- The 12 principles of animation are squash and stretch, timing and motion, anticipation, staging, follow through and overlapping action, straight ahead, slow in and out, arcs, exaggeration, secondary action, solid drawing, and appeal.
Using Stop Motion Studio, I used household objects to make this animation of a bunny skateboarding and interacting with various obstacles. I used some squash and stretch on the bouncy mushroom and anticipation and timing with the skateboard.
The set
I was limited on space so to set a stage I built the scene on my desk and then propped up my iPad on its stand on top of a chair. I also used a lamp which clips to the desk to light the scene nicely as my room is quite dark.
Overall I think my stop motion projects were successful though personally stop motion isn't for me so I don't think I'll do more of it for future projects as I favour other types of animation.
