Visual Exploration 2: Colour story mock ups

At first I was planning on making the book be a5 or a4, so i made a tiny book which explored some compositions and ideas for the story. I experimented with stitching the book which worked well and this technique will be used for the final.

I realised that the a4 size was too restricting so the size I want to go for is a4 square. To further plan out the story I made a mock up in that size, which also allowed me to experiment with the pop ups i want to include; two door openings, shelf for the noct doll to sit, spring pop up.

I'm very happy with the writing and character design for my book now, and feel ready to start making the real thing.

The final book will be 16 pages consisting of 2 signatures of 2 pages each.
